When it gets difficult and you tell yourself it’s time to quit, He wants to take you further.
I know this well. When I survey my life, I see times of victory, but I also see moments when I threw in the towel a little too soon.
When it’s difficult, when the physical or mental pain sets in, we start to look for the easy way out. But what would happen and how different would it be if we decided to choose the hard way?
You’ve built a boundary in your mind, and when you reach the edge, you say you can go no further. It’s like a switch flips in our mind and we bail out. But what if God wants to expand that border?
We limit ourselves, but He says to rise up and walk. We say it’s impossible, but He says there is nothing impossible to Him.
We get tired, our bodies get weak, we are limited in our abilities. We get crushed, torn and hurt. That’s ok. I’m learning it’s ok to get tired, weak and on the edge of ourselves. I’m discovering that there is strength, and that strength comes from the Lord.
We don’t need all the strength or all the answers because He is. He is the one who raises the dead and gives life where there was none.
So next time you want to quit, call out to the Lord. The Psalmist said, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV
