Stop chasing every way breaking wave. You’ll get worn out fast if you try to catch every wave. As a surfer, you learn to wait and watch for the perfect wave. You watch the horizon, look for patterns until you see the one that sounds right, then you go for it. But first, you must wait and watch.
Life is like that. As you journey through life it’s easy to jump at everything that comes your way. If you aren’t careful you’ll end up getting worn out. You have to learn to wait, watch and pray.
How do you know which one is right? I’m learning it’s not as difficult as we make it. The first step is stepping aside and quieting yourself and spending time praying about the choices. Take time to wait and watch and then when you are rested look for the opportunity that looks and feels good and go for it.
You don’t have to do it all; only the right opportunities.
